Grambling State to Announce New Head Baseball

The position of head coach was vacated earlier this summer by Barret Rey after leading the Tigers to a, 17-37 record, and to within a game of the 2009 Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament finals.

The press conference is slated for an 11:00 am start in the Atrium of the Favrot Student Union on the GSU campus.

Lance Fuertado

Men's Basketball

Lance Fuertado was named SWAC Newcomer of the Week. Fuertado averaged 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a pair of games vs. Alabama State and Alabama A&M last week. In his top game of the week, Fuertado recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds vs. Alabama State. This is Fuertado’s second Newcomer of the Week award.

Secrett Anderson

Women's Basketball

Secrett Anderson was named SWAC Player of the Week. Anderson averaged 9.0 points 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals in a pair of games for the Lady Tigers last week.
