Grambling, LA---The Grambling State Lady Tigers struggled in a, 60-45 loss to the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M tonight in the GSU Fred C. Hobdy Arena.
Grambling fell behind early and could never regroup as the Lady Panthers opened a, 9-0, lead in the first three minutes of the game. The first half proved to be a contrast of the two teams as the Lady Tigers shot only 30% while the Lady Panthers scorched the nets shooting 60% from the floor en route to a 32-23 lead at the break.
In the second half the Lady Tigers woes continued as their shots continued to fall short they also struggled with turnovers recording 21 for the game.
The Lady Tigers were led by Bre’anna Johnson’s 11 points. Alexis Watson, Kristen Harper and Wymeka Randle had nine points each with Randle adding 10 rebounds.
Prairie View’s Candice Thomas had a game high 16 points with four rebounds. Gaati Werema turned in 13 points and eight rebounds; while Latara Darrett had eight points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Tigers will return to action Saturday when they travel to Jackson, MS to face the Lady Tigers of Jackson State. Tip-off is set for 3:00 pm.
