Lady Tigers Suffer Loss to Texas Sothern in SWAC Tourney

SHREVEPORT---The Grambling State Lady Tigers basketball team season came to an end tonight as they suffered a 63-57 loss to Texas Southern.
In an action packed first half Grambling jumped out to a 3-0 lead and set the pace for a fast paced half that featured three ties and five lead changes. Grambling held their largest and final lead 12-7 with 13:03 remaining in the half before Texas Southern went on a 15-2 run to take a 22-14 lead at the 6:25 mark en route to a 35-25 lead at the break. In the first half Grambling shot 39-percent from the field while TSU shot 44-percent. Grambling struggled with ball control committing 13 turnovers.
In the second half Grambling woes continued and TSU stretched its lead to as much as 16 at 43-27 at the 15:40 mark. Grambling would forge a late surge in an attempt at a comeback but would come no than the final stanza. Grambling would shoot 34-percent from the field for the game; and hold a slight 57-46 edge on rebound.
Grambling was led by Secrett Anderson’s 11 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots. Wymeka Randle had 10 points and four rebounds, while Kiara Marshall had eight points and three rebounds..
Gabrielle Rosigi had a game high 20 points to lead Jackson. Jasmine Cannon had 10 points while Nadosha Srticlland and Trikeyia East turned in 11 points apiece.
