Grambling State had two players named Southwestern Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week as senior wide receiver Mario Louis shared honors with Jackson State quarterback Casey Therriault while senior linebacker Cliff Exama took the defensive award.

Louis hauled in nine passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns to help the Tigers remained tied atop the SWAC West with a 29-25 home win over Texas Southern. His 211 yards was the biggest SWAC total turned in so far this season and helped GSU to a fifth-straight win, assuring the Tigers of a winning season at 6-4.

Exama totaled 18 tackles (11 solo) and helped lock up the win with a sack on the final drive inside the GSU 10-yard line. His 18-tackle performance was the best in the SWAC so far this season.
