GRAMBLING--- With temperatures soaring above 100-degrees for most of Grambling's preseason camp the Tigers have managed to stay remarkable healthy. Today two-a-day practice resumed with the Tigers taking advantage of a rare cool morning as they move into the second full week of practice.
“The thing about these young guys they are really getting in shape. We haven't had any cramping or anything like that going so we have really been blessed with that so I think they are becoming acclimated to the weather at this time,” said Head Coach Doug Williams. “You have to keep your fingers cross because you don't control some of the things that happen in football, we have been blessed so for and with the way we practice, keeping the blocks up and all, we're hopeful to avoid any major injuries.”
With just over two weeks remaining before their season opener the Tigers will continue to work on the basics before they turn their attention towards the Braves of Alcorn State September 3rd in the Port City Classic.
“We still have a few days before we get into what the game plan is going to be. Right now we are just trying to get all the fundamentals and basics down, and terminology with the offense and defense,” Williams said.
