Tigers Ready for 1st Football Practice

Grambling, La. - After reporting on Wednesday, the Grambling State University Tiger Football team will begin fall practice this evening at 7 p.m. at the Robinson Stadium Support Facility practice field.

Senior defensive back Tyree Hollins said he is ready to get on the field. "We've been looking forward to just coming out and being Grambling, "said Hollis. "It's good to be a leader on the team and I know a lot is expected, but we are ready for the challenge."

The Tigers will put on full pads for the first time on August 5th and two- a-days will begin on August 7th.

The GSU football team will hold their annual Media Day and play in a scrimmage on Saturday, August 17th at 9:30 a.m. The first day of classes for students will be on August 19th, and the season opener for the Tigers will be on Saturday, August 31st against Alabama A&M inside the confines of Robinson Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 6 p.m.
