LAKE CHARLES, La. (Women's Cross Country) -- The Grambling State University women's cross country team continued their season with a trip to Lake Charles, La. to compete in the McNeese Cowboy Stampede run on Saturday. The Lady Tigers did well ending in sixth place with 120 points, an overall time 1:54:14, and an average time of 22:50. McNeese won the day with a score of 19, an overall time of 1:36:19, and an average time of 19:15.
Individually for Grambling,
Halima Chepkwony was the top finisher as she placed sixth overall. Chepkwony earned her spot with an overall time of 20:05.7 and an average mile time of 6:28. The race was claimed by McNeese State's Katja Woelfl with an overall time of 17:56.2, and an average time of 5:46.4.
Tichina Lewis rounded off the top 20 runners for the Lady Tigers by finishing the run with an overall time of 21:50.8 and an average mile time of 7:01.9.
