Assembly
Center
officially opened in 2007 and is home to the Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball teams. The 160,450 square foot facility that seats 7,500 spectators houses the kinesiology sport and leisure studies department, faculty offices, the athletic ticket office, a weight room, dance studio, concessions areas, complete training room areas and the team store.
In its first year of existence, the
Assembly
Center
instantly became a hit with the media as the venue hosted two nationally televised games on ESPN2 and ESPN Classic. Beginning in 2008, the arena will also serve as home to the 2008 and 2009 SWAC Volleyball Tournament.
The women's basketball offices are located on the bottom floor of the arena and consists of four offices for the assistant coaches and the head coach. In addition to the office space, a full-length conference room is also included which is shared with the men's basketball offices.
